Game of Thrones (GoT) fame Benjen Stark becomes villain for the Lord of the Rings TV series. Joseph Rawle who is famously known for essaying the role of Benjen Stark in HBO’s Game of Thrones will now be seen in another fantasy adaptation.
According to a report by Deadline reports Joseph will be seen playing the role of a villain on Amazon’s Lord of the Rings TV adaptation. The production of the series will start in 2020. The estimate of the cost could be as much as $1 billion. The writers will be JD Payne and Patrick McKay, with filmmaker J.A. Bayona working for a couple of episodes in the beginning.
It is reportedly also confirmed that Mawle will be essaying the lead villain while Oren opposite Will Poulter’s young hero Beldor and as well as female lead will be Tyra by Australian actress Arkella Kavenagh. The series details keep changing and have been protected safely. However, there are assumptions that the stories will be based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth. This all would be before the events of the Lord of the Rings triology.
“J.R.R. Tolkien created one of the most extraordinary and inspiring stories of all time, and as a lifelong fan it is an honor and a joy to join this amazing team.” Bayona revealed.
At the Television Critics Association press tour, during the summer Amazon disclosed the whole creative team behind the upcoming The Lord of the Rings television series. The television series will be all set into production in 2020. For the time being, there is no final release date yet.
