The Google Stadia app can now be downloaded on supported phones through the Google Play Store, days before its official launch.
Google’s game streaming service Stadia is set to launch on November 19. The Google Stadia app is currently promoting Destiny 2 which is to be the first game offer through the service, according to 9to5Google.
Google’s game streaming service will support Chome OS tablets like the Pixel Slate, Acer Chromebook Tab 10 and HP Chromebook X2 in addition to the Pixel smartphones. The Founder’s Edition of Google Stadia is priced at $129.99 and will include a free copy of the Destiny 2 game. Once the free subscription is done, however, users will have to shell out $9.99 per month.
Stadia will launch across 14 countries. These include the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands.
The Play Store description for the app reads, “You can play games on televisions with the Stadia Controller and Google Chromecast Ultra. You can also play games on Stadia across laptops and desktops. At launch, Stadia supports Chrome OS tablets including Pixel Slate, Acer Chromebook Tab 10, and HP Chromebook X2, and Pixel 2, Pixel 3, Pixel 3a, and Pixel 4 family phones. To play Stadia, you’ll also need a code that will be provided to you with a qualified purchase, such as Stadia Founder’s Edition or Stadia Premiere Edition”.
The Stadia controller can work wirelessly with the Chromecast Ultra. Users will need to connect through a USB cable to play on their smartphone or PC.
