Days after reports claiming that Google was making changes in its shopping services such as Google Express, they have officially unleashed the plan of merging Shopping Seach and Express into the new Google Shopping. Yes, Google has finally bid adieu to Google Express and now its shopping platform will be known as Google Shopping.
The feature of Google Shopping is almost similar to the existing Shopping search. For example, if you type on Google to search for any product, the result pops up on the screen from several retailers including Flipkart, Amazon, Myntra or others. However, there are some products which provide an option to purchase it directly without redirecting to any website (means via previous Google Express), where Google handles returns and other buyers issues.
Now, in Google Shopping, the feature will soon be implemented in which you will see links to the relevant product in Google Image, Google Feed section and on YouTube. For example, if you search for pictures of a certain piece of furniture you want to buy, Google Image will reflect your shopping results from where you can directly order the desired product.
Universal Shopping Cart
In this feature, when you are watching videos on YouTube review for a particular product, on the same page of that you will see a blue ‘Add To Cart’ button allowing you to purchase that product without redirecting to any other website.
If you have not done shopping yet, you might search for the same product on Google you just watched on YouTube. That accessory could also have that same blue “Add To Cart” button. When you click that, it gets added to your universal shopping cart and you can then check out wherever you want.
This Universal Shopping cat might add a new layer of shopping experience. The service is being rolled out on almost all Google Shopping, Google Search, and Google Assistant.
