Google Maps will be soon rolling out a fresh update that will let Android users to Create Events. This features will let users add events and let another see, this was previously a subscription-based service will be now free for all. Google Map served as a free resource for navigations, it is been also used by many transport companies, thanks to users contribution Google Maps is getting highly accurate with time.
Providing an add event service will let users to practically call up the crowd in the nearby vicinity. The feature is in testing mode, not all users are able to get a chance to try it out. Google has also started providing step by step instructions to set up Events through Google Map Android Apps:
Add an event
- You can add public events to Google Maps: Note: Feature might not be available in some regions.
- From your Android phone or tablet, open Google Maps.
- Tap the Contribute tab > Events > Add a public event Add.
- Follow the next step.
Edit your event:
- From your Android phone or tablet, open Google Maps.
- Go to the Contribute tab.
- Tap Events and then select your event.
- Tap Edit this event Edit and enter or change the details.
- Follow the next steps.
Delete your event:
- From your Android phone or tablet, open Google Maps.
- Go to the Contribute tab and then Events and then tap your event.
- Tap Edit this event Edit and then Delete this event.
- Follow the next steps.
Google has indicated the feature is not available in all the regions, so it won’t be working for all. The benefit of putting an event tab will let the user use Google Map services as an active solution to call up simple meet-ups. Current settings are limited to Public Events only there is no Private Event or any other options where users can send a direct invitation to some users.
It is necessary for anyone using the Public Event to visit or participate should properly verify the details and visit only secure, popular or verified places.
