Goans are known worldwide for doing unusual things worldwide. In the latest incident, a person has been arrested by the state police for allegations of growing ganja on a plot of land that belongs to the Navy in Goa’s Vasco town, police said on Friday.
The police said that Sameer Shaikh — a local resident — had planted ganja on the land on which the Indian Navy was constructing a residential building for its personnel. Vasco police inspector Nolasco Raposo said that the plot in question is very close to a primary school run by Naval authorities for children of its personnel.
Speaking to the reporters, reports NDTV, Raposo said, “Based on a tip-off, police raided the area and arrested Sheikh. The land belongs to the Navy. Investigations are underway to uncover more details about how Sheikh managed to plant ganja on the plot of land.”
