Congress president Rahul Gandhi gave an impeccable speech in the Monsoon Session of the Parliament on Friday and his gesture of winking after hugging Prime Minister Narendra Modi is irking the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders. Latest addition to this series is BJP’s Goa spokesperson Dattaprasad Naik, who had called Rahul a ‘loafer’, after the Goa Chief Minister was called a “kathputli” (puppet) by the state Congress chief.
Referring to the gesture of Rahul hugging PM Modi, Dattaprasad Naik said, “Rahul Gandhi, who does not have substance or the understanding of issues related to the people of India, had to resort to hugging the Prime Minister in the temple of democracy and then winking like a loafer.”
Adding more, he had said in the press statement, “We have only heard of loafers winking at girls in colleges in the past and never such a shameful act has ever happened in the temple of democracy.” Naik was responding back to the comments made by Girish Chodankar, in which he had called Parrikar a “kathputli” (puppet). Chodankar had made this comments alleging that Parrikar has bowed down to allies’ unreasonable demands.
On Sunday, Chodankar had said in a press conference, as reported in NDTV, “The Chief Minister has been reduced to string puppet by alliance partners like Goa Forward, whose leader Vijai Sardesai has tried to save those behind the fish mafia, after formalin was found in fish imported into Goa from other states by rogue fish traders. Hundreds of thousands of Goans love their fish thali. The government has put the fish thali in peril.”
Recently, senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had suggested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to have a medical check after being hugged by the Congress president Rahul Gandhi in the Parliament.
