Denmark based team created an artificial intelligence called Q which is neither a male nor a female voice. It is the world first gender-neutral virtual assistant, presented at South by Southwest (SXSW) creative festival in Texas.
Almost all leading voice assistant like Cortana or Alexa or Siri have a female voice to assist users on various activities or an authoritative male voice. Breaking the stereotype in tech the startup focused on delivering a voice that fits well for both the genders but does not belong to any class.
“There is no reason that a voice has to be gendered,” said Julie Carpenter, a research fellow in the ethics and emerging sciences group at California State Polytechnic University, who advised the project Q team.
The above audio belongs to the Q AI that carries a pretty unique voice that does not fall into the male or female category. The objective is to break the perception of stereotyping a voice bias to one specific gender and following neutral identity that serves everyone.
