Mahindra Tech ex-employee accuses then manager of discrimination against homosexuality, Firm assures probe
Days after the Supreme Court of India abolished the colonial law which criminalises homosexuality in India and termed it legal. A former employee of Tech Mahindra has filed a complaint against then team manager, alleging harassment and discrimination against homosexuality. Since section 377 has been quashed by the Court, it seems to have given a confidence to a certain section of the LGBT community about their rights.
The ex-employee of Tech Mahindra Gaurav Probir Pramanik has written a mail to his previous company days after the Supreme Court of India delivered its historic judgment, legalising homosexuality in India. He cited a 2015 incident where the manager concerned had allegedly made “sweeping generalisation and stereotyping of someone’s sexuality”.
In the mail, Gaurav Probir Pramanik reportedly accused the manager of making fun of the judgment despite being a leader. The manager further reportedly said that his effeminate nature had affected his work.
