Ganesh Chaturthi: From Shilpa Shetty to Madhuri Dixit, B-town celebs welcome ganpati
When it comes to festivals, our bollywood celebs are no different. Right from Amitabh Bachchan to Sanjay Dutt, everybody welcomes Bappa with zeal and excitement.
Ganesh Chaturthi marks the birth of Lord Ganesha. Processions are carried out in infinite numbers of idols of Lord Ganesha. Each little quarter of the town, each family with its adherents, each little street corner organises a procession of its own and the poorest may be seen carrying on a simple plank with their little idol or of paper mache. Our Bollywood celebs also encouraged people to make idols which are eco-friendly.
Here’s how our Bollywood celebs are celebrating Ganpati this time
Madhuri Dixit loves all thiings about the festival, right from modaks to dance and the festive fervour. She took to Instagram to post a picture where she looks beautiful as she bows to a Ganpati idol
Amitabh Bachchan too posted pictures of Bappa on his Twitter handle in festive fervour.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Sanjay Dutt brought idols of their own to celebrate the festival. Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra did the puja and Shilpa was also spotted dancing. Sanjay Dutt’s children were spotted with the idol.
Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma not only wished their fans but also promoted their new film ‘Sui Dhaaga’ with an eco-friendly Ganpati idol made of thread and guess what they shared it’s making too.
Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra also wished their fans on behalf on their crew of Namaste England and as usual they were seen fighting with each other.
Dia Mirza took to Twitter to encourage people to use eco-friendly Ganpatis. In her tweet she wrote, “More citizens bring home #GreenGanesha because of such efforts! BUT politically/industry sponsored Ganpati pandals still have Plaster of Paris idols, chemical colours, plastic decorations. THIS needs to change! #SwachhBharat @PMOIndia.”
