The Shooting of ‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel Begins in Northern Ireland

Days after Game of Thrones last season was officially aired on HBO and Hotstar, the latest reports are doing the rounds that the makers of fantasy show has already started the shooting of Game of Thrones’ prequel. If reports are to be believed, the shooting of GOT prequel is underway in Northern Ireland, which has already served as the production hub for the show between 2011 to 2019.

If you are a die-hard fan of Game of Thrones, you must have known that Red Wedding and the Battle of the Bastards were also shot in Northern Ireland. It is yet to be confirmed that the show will be shot in other countries or not.

Talking about Game of Thrones prequel, it comes from writer Jane Goldman and show’s co-executive producer George RR Martin and director SJ Clarkson. Goldman will also serve as showrunner in the prequel.

According to reports, GoT Prequel will be set thousands of years before the events that we have already seen in Game of Thrones. The prequel will be led by Naomi Watts and will also star Josh Whitehouse, Naomi Ackie, Denise Gough, Miranda Richardson, Sheila Atim, Ivanno Jeremiah, Georgie Henley, Alex Sharp and Toby Regbo.

Talking about the title of Game of Thrones prequel, it is being said that the show will be titled as The Long Night, which was the title of the third epidose of GoT final season. If everything goes by the plan, GoT Prequel is likely to be aired next year.
