Game of Thrones author George RR Martin opens up on the finale episode
Author George RR Martin took to his personal blog to share his feelings about the finale episode.
Game of Thrones series finally came to an end with its eighth season. The finale episode had all types of reactions on social media. Author George RR Martin took to his personal blog to share his feelings about the finale episode of this landmark show that was telecast on HBO.
When a fan asked whether the ending of GoT matches Martin’s ending in the books, he wrote, “How will it all end? The same ending as the show? Different? Well… yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes.”
Martin collaborated with David Benioff and Dan Weiss on previous seasons of GoT by writing a few episodes but he had nothing to do with the eighth season. The eighth season was wrapped with only six episodes and Martin said that the manuscripts of his final two novels will have roughly 3000 pages.
“I am working in a very different medium than David and Dan, never forget. They had eight hours for this final season. I expect these last two books of mine will fill 3000 manuscript pages between them before I’m done… and if more pages and chapters and scenes are needed, I’ll add them,” he wrote in his blog.
In the final episode, Daenerys Targaryen, the mother of Dragons was stabbed by Jon Snow. Sansa Stark was declared Queen in the North, and Bran was made the ‘Lord of the Six Kingdoms and the protector of the realm.’
