Fugitive Diamantaire Nirav Modi holds two Indian Passports! Deets Here
Fugitive Nirav Modi seems to be following the footsteps of Liquor Baron Vijay Mallya. After months of speculation, the whereabouts of fugitive diamantaire has apparently been ascertained by the security agencies. He seems to be hiding in London after travelling on a second Indian passport.
As reported by India Today, Nirav, the key accused in the PNB scam, is travelling overseas all thanks to his dual international passports.
A report in IANS, citing Enforcement Directorate (ED) sources said, “Modi is currently in London while his brother Nishal Modi is in Antwerp on a Belgian passport. Nirav’s sister Purvi Mehta also holds a Belgian passport and is said to be in Hong Kong at present, it added. Nirav was also spotted in Dubai, Belgium and Hong Kong.”
Reports further stated, Government sources revealed that he was last spotted in New York. Nirav’s relatives are also on the scanner. His brother, Neeshal and sister Purvi Mehta are currently in Antwerp with a Belgian passport. His ’s brother-in-law, Mayank Mehta of Rosy Blue Diamond, was reportedly dividing his time between Hong Kong and New York on a British passport.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued notices against the trio under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The CBI had earlier this week filed two charge sheets in the case before a Mumbai court. They will focus on the money laundering aspect and the role of Nirav, Choksi and others in perpetrating the alleged fraud.
We shall soon update you with more on this matter.
