Ron Leibman, the Emmy-winning actor who played Rachel Green’s father, Dr. Leonard Green, on Friends, has passed away at the ages of 82
Leibman won his Tony for playing the crucial character of Roy Cohn, who was a conservative lawyer who died of AIDS in 1986.
According to media reports, the cause of his death was pneumonia. Leibman’s agent Robert Attermann of Abrams Artists Agency confirmed saying, “We at Abrams Artists Agency are saddened to hear the news of Ron’s passing. Ron was an incredibly talented actor with a distinguished career in film, TV, and theatre. Our thoughts go out to his wife, Jessica (Walter), and his family,” CNN quoted.
Further, Attermann said, “Ron was an incredibly talented actor with a distinguished career in film, TV, and theater, our thoughts go out to his wife, Jessica, and his family.”
Ron broke into the entertainment business in 1956 with the soap opera “The Edge of Night” and made his movie debut in 1970 with the comedy/satire, “Where’s Poppa?” where he portrayed the role of the brother of George Segal’s character.
Recently, the actor lend his voice for FX’s show titled “Archer,” where he played the role of Ron Cadillac, the husband of Malory Archer.
The actor had been married to actress Jessica Walter since 1983 and his stepdaughter Brooke Bowman, a TV programming executive. The duo even played the role of husband and wife in the adult TV animated series Archer in 2009.
Earlier, he was married to actress Linda Lavin from 1969-1981.
