The second wave of pandemic Coronavirus in India led the nation to deal with several crises. The situations constantly keep getting worse, amidst these horrific videos goes viral on the internet. Reportedly in Hundreds, the corpses were found floating in the Ganga river amidst the surging number of death rates in the pandemic. It is alleged that these half-burned corpses are of the patients who died due to the COVID virus. Bollywood celebs such as Parineeti Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Jaaved Jaaferi and few others call it ‘tragic and horrific’ situations on social media.
On Wednesday, Farhan Akhtar tweeted, “The news of scores of bodies being discovered floating in rivers and washed up on its banks is absolutely heartbreaking. The virus will be defeated someday but there has to be accountability for these failures in the system. Until then, the pandemic chapter is not closed!”
Actress Parineeti Chopra wrote, “This pandemic seems to have brought out the worst in humanity. Those bodies floating in rivers were lives lived; they were somebody’s mother, daughter, father or son. How would you feel if you were on that riverbank and saw your mother floating by?? UNTHINKABLE. Monsters.”
Urmila Matondkar shared, “मै बेपनाह अंधेरों को सुबह कैसे कहूँ मैं इन नज़ारों का अँधा तमाशबीन नहीं 💔💔 Over 100 dead bodies of suspected Covid fatalities dumped in Ganga. Tragic..brutal..inhuman beyond belief. Om Shanti 🙏🙏 #IndiaCovidCrisis(sic)”.
On Monday itself i.e May 10, reportedly around 45 corpses were found floating in a decomposed stage on the banks of the Ganga in Buxar district. The district administration claims that these corpses must have come from the upstream districts of Ghazipur, Varanasi or Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.
