A fire broke out on the sixth floor of the Parliament Annexe building in Delhi. The incident took place around 7.30 am in the morning. Seven fire engines were rushed to the spot to control the fire.
As per ANI report, The Delhi Fire Service official said the fire broke out on the sixth floor of the building.
the fire started in room no 6 of the sixth floor. Officials think the reason behind the fire is a short circuit. The damage was confined to room no 6 only.
“A call was received at 7.30 AM and it is suspected the fire started following a short-circuit. The fire has been brought under control,” Atul Garg, Director, Delhi Fire Service said.
The official added that further investigations are on.
The sittings of both the homes of Parliament have been suspended since March. It happened ever since the Prime Minister Narendra Modi imposed nationwide COVID-19 Lockdown. The finances session was adjourned March 23.
The monsoon session of parliament should start earlier than September 2.
