Father repeatedly rapes minor daughter for six months

A 43-year-old labourer was arrested from the Jhalawar district of Rajasthan. He was repeatedly raping his daughter for the past six months at his house.

The 13-year old was being sexually abused for the past six months. The accused father was an alcoholic, who had left his wife. The couple had 3 children. As per Station House Officer (SHO), Kaithun Pushpendra Singh said the father assured the mother that he would take care of the daughter and a younger son.

The matter was reported when the mother visited the children and the victim told her about the incidents that happened. The mother then lodged a police complaint on May 29 and a case was registered under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and provisions of the POCSO Act, the SHO said.

The accused was then arrested on Monday. He was produced before a court that sent him to 15-days judicial custody yesterday, Singh said.
