Farmers' Protest: Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut meets Rakesh Tikait at Ghazipur, says Maha govt supports stir
A week after the tractor rally held by the protesting farmers that turned violent earning them criticism from all quarters. The farmers have now announced a nationwide three-hours ‘chakka jam’ on February 6. Amid this Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut met farmer leader Rakesh Tikait at the Ghazipur border. He also extended the Maharashtra government’s support to the farmers’ protest. Anil Desai, Arvind Sawant, Vinayak Raut, Prataprao Jadhav, and Krupal Tumane too were part of the Shiv Sena delegation with Raut.
Here is what he said:
Sanjay Raut said, “We are here to show support. Uddhav Thackeray supports the farmers. The Maharashtra government is supporting the protest. We spoke to Tikait sahib, gave our message & expressed solidarity. Govt should speak to farmers in a proper way. Ego would not help run the country”
On February 6, the protesting farmers have announced that they would block national and state highways for three hours. They are protesting the harassment allegedly meted out to them by authorities, and other issues.

Ahead of the Chakka Jam. Delhi has now turned into a fortress with iron nails metal barricades and stone boulders.

A high level of security was set up near the border. It has two heavy layers of metal barricading; a layer of large stone boulders; followed by the layer of nails and a layer of concrete barricades. Steel coils and cement barriers were set up at the Singhu and Ghazipur protest sites too.
