The tweet by Rihanna garnered thousands of retweets and likes within an hour. By Wednesday her tweet had been liked by more than 391,000 people and shared nearly 200,000 times.
Climate and environmental activist Greta Thunberg extended her support to the ongoing farmers’ agitation. “We stand in solidarity with the #FarmersProtest in India,” she tweeted.
The tweet by Thunberg has garnered over 40,000 retweets.
Apart from Thunberg, UK Member of Parliament Claudia Webbe also expressed solidarity with the Indian farmers.
The protesting farmers who have been camping in Delhi NCR have now called for a nationwide agitation on February 6. They will block national and state highways for three hours in protest against the Internet ban and many other issues.
