As A Part Of The Protest, Farmers Begin The Chakka Jam Today In Delhi And Other Regions. Around 50,000 Cops Have Been Deployed For Security
For over last three months farmers have been camping in Delhi and other regions to protest against the newly introduced Farm Bill by the Indian government. The protestors tractor which took place on Republic day recorded a massive eruption of violence near red fort. The violent protest bought the issue to a global level discussion. After celebs such as Rihanna and Greta Thunberg tweeted about the farmers, Indian celebs urged netizens to be united. Today the farmer protestors begin the Chakka Jam (road blockage) which will last for three hours. Considering the blockage around 50,000 cops have been deployed on duty for the security in Delhi and few other regions.
On Saturday i.e Feb 6 the farmer protestors will be blocking the national and state highways as part of stage demonstration against the internet ban in areas near their agitation sites and the alleged harassment that have been meted out to them by the authorities. Today’s chakka jam protest is scheduled to take place between 12 noon and 3 PM. Officials have also deployed several drone cameras in the National capital to keep a track on the protest and their behavior during the ‘Chakka Jaam’.
