Fans go past security at Saurashtra Cricket Stadium to click selfie with Virat Kohli
Fans went past the security present at the Saurashtra Cricket Stadium on Thursday to try and reach out to the Indian captain Virat Kohli on the opening day of the first Test match between the hosts and the West Indies.
The right-hander was pictured waving at two fans who wanted to click a selfie with him. Eventually, they were taken out the pitch by the members of the security team.
However, this isn’t the first instance when fans have breached the security in a field to meet the Indian captain.
In the Indian Premier League this year, a fan rushed on to the field to touch the 29-year old Kohli’s feet at the iconic Feroze Shah Kotla in Delhi, before he was rushed out of the field by the security personnel.
India currently have placed themselves strongly in the Test match with debutant opener Prithvi Shaw cracking a sensational hundred on the first day itself. His 134 of 144 balls that had 19 fours along with an 86 from Pujara and an unbeaten 72 from the skipper has put India firmly placed at 364/4, with a big score in sight.
