Fake IPS officer and motivational speaker arrested
He is actually class 12 fail.
A 20-year-old man Abhay Meena has been arrested by the Special Operations Group (SOG) as he was faking to be an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and a motivational speaker. He is actually class 12 fail. He inspired many youths with motivational speeches on how he used to study for long hours to get through IIT and UPSC exams.
He deceived many people with his fake IDs but a man suspected him when he showed the police card where the spelling of crime branch was ‘branche’, and capital was ‘capitol’. He was arrested from an apartment in Jagatpura area on Friday. Additional SP (ASP) Karan Sharma told TOI, “He was a social media sensation. People were inspired by the story that somebody could become an IPS officer at such an early age.”
His car had a three-star police plate. “In police hierarchy, a three-star cop is either a DG or additional DG (ADG) rank official. Therefore, such honour is reserved only for senior officials, not for a 20-year-old new entrant into the service,” said an anonymous official.
The accused has admitted that he had cheated people by introducing himself as Delhi cadre IPS officer, posted as an ACP in the national capital. SHO Sanjay Sharma said, “The accused said that he used to take money from people on the pretext of helping them in their legal cases. Some charge sheets have been recovered from his house.”
He used to visit expensive hotels and restaurants with his live-in partner and many times he didn’t even make payment.
