TikTok influencer, Faisal Siddiqui who is famous for making eye-grabbing videos on his handle, today makes headlines for all the wrong reasons. He has undercome a massive backlash after posting a video, where he could be seen glorifying the acid attack. Soon after his video goes viral, netizens trend #BanTikTok in India. Siddiqui on the other side gives clarification on making this video.
Faisal Siddiqui took to his Instagram handle and shared a cryptic note addressing his fans. He also shared the video and explains how he has collaborated with a make-up artist. In the caption of his post, he wrote, “My intention was never to hurt anyone in any capacity. As a social media influencer, I realize my responsibility and apologize to anyone who was offended by the video.” Take a look at his post right here below:
Although Faisal stated that his intension was not to promote acid attack in the video, his video evidently looks like promoting an acid attack in the visual context. Faisal’s video led to the outrage in the entire country. The acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal (who recently collaborated with Deepika Padukone for film, ‘Chhapaak’) took to her social media handles slammed him for making such videos. Including several other celebs, netizens started trending that BanTikTok in India, as influencers have been making such type of videos for a while now.
