Facebook worker gives first glimpse of Facebook dating app
As of the second quarter of 2018, Facebook had 2.23 billion monthly active users. So it makes perfect sense for Facebook to enter the dating apps genre.
In today’s world, all our major and minor information is with Facebook. The social media app also has our photos, likes, dislike and our interest too. It makes complete sense that social media giant would eventually move in the direction of offering a matchmaking service.

The company announced its new dating app at its F8 conference in May 2018, which caused shares of Tinder, Inc. to drop by 20 percent.
At the time, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the dating feature wouldn’t suggest matches between friends but would show which other single people were attending events near the user.
Instead of being a stand-alone app, Facebook will offer a dating service which will be an additional feature to appear alongside other Facebook categories like Marketplace.
The UI looks more traditional as compared to its counterpart Tinder. Facebook looks to take a mature approach designed to cater to those looking for a more serious relationship rather than a quick hook-ups.
Mobile code researcher Manchun Wong shared the first look of the signup pages in Facebook Dating.

When you decide to register on Facebook Dating, which you will apparently do. It will allow you to browse potential matches based on all the info Facebook knows about you.
Once you sign in, the app will only display individuals who have registered on the site. The App will not share any of your activity details on your FB timeline.
According to Wong, Facebook is also working on something called “Conversation Starter” to help users break the ice.
People who will meet someone on the app can exchange text over Messenger or WhatsApp. Still, they won’t be able to send a photo for now.
According to TechCrunch, Facebook is considering a limit on how many people you can express interest in so you can’t just spam everyone with salacious overtures.
For now, Facebook has no plans for a paid subscription for users.
Facebook employees are testing a beta version of the app, something known in Silicon Valley parlance as “dogfooding.”
To much fraternization was the error that employees received while signing up on the app.
“This is not meant for dating your co-workers,” the message said.
