On Monday (October 4), Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram users complained about facing downtime on the platform. These Mark Zuckerberg owned social media platforms aren’t working for millions of users due to a major outage. Facebook took to it’s official Twitter handle to issue an official apology.
The error problem on Facebook is said to be with the Domain Name System (DNS). It allows the web addresses to take users to their destinations. Apparently, a similar outage at cloud company Akamai Technologies took down multiple websites in July this year.
The tech support and the security experts from Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram are currently tracking the situation to curb the downtime. Facebook’s other related platforms such as Facebook Messenger and Workspace also apparently suffered the down time.
Reportedly, the Downdetector showcased that there were more than 20,000 incidents globally wherein people reported facing issues in using Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram at the same time.
