Facebook and Instagram down for over 8 hours; users facing trouble
Facebook and Instagram are finding difficult to access the two social networking websites
Facebook and Instagram users across the world are finding difficult to access the two social networking websites since Wednesday night. Users are facing issues with sending messages on Messenger, posting to the feed on all Facebook products and accessing other features on Facebook.com and Instagram. Also, Facebook-owned Oculus VR is experiencing issues related to the outage.
As the users are finding the sites inaccessible or are unable to log in from their accounts, #FacebookDown and #InstagramDown were trending on Twitter on Thursday morning.
Both Facebook and Instagram took to Twitter to acknowledge the problem. Acknowledging that the users are having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps, Facebook said that the issue will be resolved soon.
We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

It is to be noted that the Facebook and Instagram crash comes hours after Google’s e-mail website Gmail and Google Drive faced global service outage as users complained of issues of service disruption. Users faced difficulties sending emails.
Later in the day, in Paraguay, India, Bangladesh, Argentina and other countries, users experienced issues with sending messages on Whatsapp. DownDetector indicated that those in Brazil were experiencing the most severe outages.
