An American football defensive end Ryan Russell, an NFL free agent, has recently made a startling revelation about his sexual identity. The 27-year old former Dallas Cowboys pass-rusher Ryan Russell has made an announcement that he is a bisexual and said that his motivation for making his sexual identity is that he’s flat-out tired of hiding it.
Revealing his bisexual identity, Russell, who was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys and played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he told ESPN, “My truth is that I’m a talented football player, a damn good writer, a loving son, an overbearing brother, a caring friend, a loyal lover, and a bisexual man.”
“Have I lied to teammates, coaches, trainers, front-office executives and fans about who I am? Not exactly. But withholding information is a form of deceit,” he said. “And I want the next part of my career — and life — steeped in trust and honesty,” he added.
“Out of love, admiration and respect, I want the next team to sign me valuing me for what I do and knowing who I truly am.” Russell wrote himself that his goal to be an openly LGBTQ player in the NFL.
“I want to live my dream of playing the game I’ve worked my whole life to play, and being open about the person I’ve always been.”
Apart from his sexual identity, Russel also made his relationship with his boyfriend public, who wrote of the NFL player on his Instagram page, “This man is the top headline on @espn this morning for speaking his truth as a player in the NFL and as my boyfriend. I couldn’t be more proud.”
