Error In CoWIN Vaccine Certificate? Make Corrections Through Co-Win

Covid-19 vaccination certificate emerges as a crucial document for domestic travel. A correct vaccine certificate with name, gender, and year of birth matching with other documents is important for foreign travels too. But what happens when there are errors in your CoWIN Vaccine Certificate?

Individuals who have received their CoWIN vaccine certificates but with errors can now make the amends. The Centre has allowed beneficiaries to make a correction in their COVID-19 vaccination certificates through the Co-WIN portal.

The official handle of Aargoya Setu tweeted, “Now you can make corrections to your name, year of birth and gender on your Cowin vaccination certificates if inadvertent errors have come in.”

Here is a step by step guide for you to make correction to your vaccine certificate:

  • Go to https://cowin.gov.in
  • Sign in by entering your 10-digit mobile number
  • Enter the 6-digit OTP received on your phone
  • Click on Verify & Proceed
  • Go to Account Details
  • Raise an Issue
  • Click on ‘Correction in Certificate’ under ‘What is the issue?’
  • Check the issue(s) that needs amend from ‘Name’, ‘Gender’, ‘Year of Birth’
  • Continue and make the desired changes.

A person can edit their certificate only once and the updated information will appear on their final certificates.

As many as 3,17,37,869 persons across 37 States/UTs have received their first dose of COVID Vaccine.  A total of 3,16,134 have received their second dose. This is as per the data shared by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
