Ellen DeGeneres To End Talk Show After 19th Season

One of America’s most popular and iconic shows, The Elle DeGeneres show is coming to an end. The popular chat show host Ellen DeGeneres will end her Emmy-winning daytime talk show next year after its upcoming 19th season. Rumours of the show coming to end have been on for long. The news was confirmed by Ellen in the teaser of the upcoming show, she has confirmed that season 19 is the final one.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published Wednesday, DeGeneres said “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” was no longer a challenge for her.

Ellen is quoted as saying, “If you’ve been watching this show, and I trust that you have, you know that a few weeks ago we celebrated our 3000th show. 3000 shows! So, that means as of today, we’ve done 3000 shows, plus 14, which is um…3000, plus 14 shows. I know, it’s a lot. And today, I have an announcement to make. Today, I’m announcing that next season, Season 19, is going to be my last season.

She added, “You may wonder why I’ve decided to end after 19 seasons. The truth is, I always trust my instincts. My instinct told me it’s time. ”

DeGeneres told The Hollywood Reporter that she is open to movie roles. She further added that aims to be more involved in environmental conservation efforts.

‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ premiered in September 2003, was a rating success for much of its run. It won more than 30 Emmys and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
