Elissa Cadwell Will Play Nitara In The Mortal Kombat Movie Reboot

The Mortal Kombat movie reboot has fans of the video game series in high anticipation. The movie releases in 2021 and details about the project are scarce.

There has been an addition to the cast of characters in the movie though. Nitara, a blood-thirsty vampire fighter, will be seen in the Mortal Kombat movie. This character was last seen in the 2002 Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Elissa Cadwell will be portraying the character in the movie. Writer Greg Russo sent out a tweet, confirming the news.

The other characters that are confirmed to appear in the movie include Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Sisi Stringer as Mileena, and Tadanobu Asano as Raiden. The film is alleged to be rated ‘R’ to include the brutal Fatalities that have made the game famous. James Wan and Todd Garner will produce the film while Simon McQuoid will direct the film as his feature debut.

While Nitara isn’t a huge part of the Mortal Kombat franchise, fans will no doubt appreciate the inclusion of a vampire character in the movie.

Elissa Cadwell is a stuntwoman and this would be her first acting role. She has previously performed stunts in films like The Shallows, Aquaman, and Dora and the Lost City of Gold. Her experience in stunts will prove to be useful in the action-oriented movie.

The Mortal Kombat movie reboot is scheduled for release on March 5, 2021.
