Ekta Kapoor, Karan Johar are all set to receive the prestigious Padma Shri Award. Along with them, Kangana Ranaut will also be awarded. The trio were honoured with the Padma Shri for their contribution to the field of performing arts. Kapoor and Johar will be attending the award ceremony in New Delhi on November 8.
As per the report in Pinkvilla, “It’s a government function and the invitations have already been sent to the winners. The two are all excited to receive the prestigious award from the officials for their excellence in the field of performing arts.”
Bollywood actor Jeetendra too will be attending the awards with his daughter Ekta. “The filmmaker wants her father to witness the prestigious moment live. All the requisite formalities are completed,” said the source.
Last year, Ekta Kapoor, Karan Johar, and Kangana Ranaut, among others, received the fourth greatest civilian honor, the Padma Shri Award, on January 26, 2020.
Padma Shri is the fourth-highest civilian award of the Republic of India, after the Bharat Ratna, the Padma Vibhushan and the Padma Bhushan. The President of India honours the Padma awardees at a ceremonial function held at the Rashrapati Bhavan. It is awarded by the Government of India every year on India’s Republic Day.
