Eggs thrown on South Korean squad on return from World Cup
South Korean team returned home after a decent campaign at the FIFA World cup 2018. They were given a warm reception as around 500 fans cheered for the team on arrival post their wonderful display against World Champions Germany. It was nothing short of a surprise when some fans started pelting eggs and cushions on the players.
The team looked dejected and unhappy after the event took place. The South Korean team was part of the exciting Group F that featured Sweden, Mexico and Germany. They produced an impeccable performance against the German giants to knock them out of the tournament, helping Mexico sneak through to the Round of 16.

Defeating Germany with such an astounding performance is an achievement withing itself. And in any game, there will always be winners and losers. Greeting players with such inhumanity is something utterly indigestible.
“Thank you to all of you who came today. I am sorry to our fans that we didn’t live up to our promise of reaching the knockout stage but I think we all saw some hope from the win over Germany. But we won’t get carried away with that bit of success, and we’ll continue to work hard.”, said Son, who was almost hit by a flying egg.
