Kolkata may be the best place to be during Durga Puja but Bengalis of Maharashtra also make sure that the festival is celebrated with zeal.
The mulgis and manus hit the celebration grounds in festive garb. With the traditional puja, aarti, and bhog, the pandals also organise cultural activities for five days.
The shrines are dedicated to Goddess Durga and women are dressed in gorgeously draped Laal Paar sarees while men wear dhoti-kurta.
The various musical and cultural programmes will include antakshari, Bangla band, dhunuchi dance and more. Lip-smacking delicacies include khichuri, labra, chutney, payesh and rosogollas which are served as prasad.
The highlight of the pandals are innovative themes. They potray the Bengali culture and literature through their decor and give you a different experience altogether.
These Durga Pujo’s are from every nook and corner of the state and if you haven’t visited them already, pin your hopes for next year.
