Donald Trump’s driver sues Trump Organization for almost $200,000 for unpaid overtime

Noel Cintron, who served as the NY businessman’s driver until Trump received Secret Service protection in 2016, is demanding the recovery of compensation from his time working for the Donald Trump Organization in a lawsuit filed Monday with the Supreme Court of NY.

Cintron also claimed his salary was increased just twice over a period of 15 years – from $62,700 in 2003 to $68,000 in 2006, and then to $75,000 in 2010.

In December 2010, he was given a $7,000 raise to $75,000 a year, but only after losing his health benefits, saving his employer almost $18,000 a year in insurance premiums, according to the lawsuit.

Donald Trump was not named as a defendant.

President Donald Trump’s personal driver of over 25 years is suing the Trump Organization for more than 3,000 hours of unpaid overtime over the last six years, according to Business Insider. Just previous year, a supply company claimed they were never paid for paint that was used to re-paint Trump’s luxury golf resort.

Larry Hutcher, one of Cintron’s attorneys, said Trump’s “complete disregard for the rights of workers has defined his disgraceful record in business”. “President Trump’s further callousness and cupidity are further demonstrated by the fact that while he is purportedly a billionaire, he has not given his personal driver a meaningful raise in over 12 years!”

A spokesperson for the Trump Organization did not immediately return a request for comment.

Cintron was the personal driver for Trump for a whopping 25 years and said he had to be on the job by 7 a.m.in the morning.

Cintron said he worked as a driver for Trump, his family members and his businesses for more than a quarter century, averaging 50 to 55 hours weekly.

The case is Cintron v Trump Organization LLC et al, New York State Supreme Court, New York County, No. 653424/2018. He claims he worked 550 hours of overtime every year but was not paid an overtime wage for those hours.

“It’s ironic that President Trump, who portrays himself as an advocate of the working man, doesn’t see fit to pay his own driver a fair wage”, Hutcher said in an interview.
