Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and with the theaters being shut, many movies have opted for on OTT release. Now, Bhumi Pednekar and Konkona Sen Sharma’s ‘Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare’ is also set to release on Netflix. Directed by Alankrita Shrivastava who also directed ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’
In July, it was announced that ‘Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare’ will be premiered on Netflix, now, it is announced that the film will release in the month of September. However, the makers have not yet announced the release date. The film was part of the 17 titles that Netflix announced in July.
This is the first time Konkana and Bhumi will share the screen space together, apart from the ladies, ‘Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare’ also features Vikrant Massey and Amol Parashar in prominent roles. The film premiered at the 24th Busan International Film Festival under the section “A Window on Asian Cinema” on 4 October 2019.
According to the synopsis, the movie is “set in a newly developing industrial area on the outskirts of New Delhi, Dolly Kitty aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, chronicles the quiet transgression of two cousins (women), who through their complicated love-hate equation, enable each other to find freedom.”
