Inbetweeners Star James Buckley Set To Appear In Doctor Who Series 12
The 32-year-old is overjoyed to be a part of Doctor Who
Doctor Who Series 12 is loading up on the talent. After the announcement that Lenny Henry and Stephen Fry will star in Doctor Who Series 12, The Inbetweeners star James Buckley is now confirmed to be starring in a guest role in the series. The 32-year-old is overjoyed to be starring in the long-running British TV series.
“It was surreal to be on such an iconic show, and I’m really happy to be part of something so well-loved. Hope everyone enjoys it!”
James Buckley has made a name for himself as the foul-mouthed Jay Cartwright and is now all set to take his talents to Doctor Who. However, the new role James is undertaking is pretty far removed from his iconic role.
Doctor Who’s Executive Producer, Matt Strevens welcomed James onboard. “It was a real thrill to welcome James to the cast, his dramatic and comic talents are put to fine use in this action-packed episode.”
James Buckley will be joining the returning cast of Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill, and Tosin Cole with Jodie Whittaker helming the series as The Doctor.
In addition, Chris Chibnall is also returning as the series showrunner for a second time. He had taken over the reins of Doctor Who from Stephen Moffat in 2018.
This new cast inclusion will come as good news for Doctor Who fans who have been reeling from the cancellation of Doctor Who Christmas Special for the second year running. Doctor Who returns to BBC One in 2020 on New Year’s Day.
