Disney+ after the super success of the rebooted version of Aladdin and The Lion King are all set to reintroduce the world of Home Alone. Undoubtedly one of the best Christmas classic films of all time, Home Alone is one which we can watch over and over again. The makers have now unveiled the cast of the reboot version.
The reboot version of Home Alone will have Jojo Rabbit breakout star and child actor Archie Yates taking on the lead role. Joining Yates is The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s star Ellie Kemper and comedian-actor Rob Delaney.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Disney+ film will have Ellie and Rob playing a couple who “in order to save their home from financial ruin, go to war with a kid who has stolen a priceless heirloom”.
The 1990s movie holds a special place in our hearts. Macaulay Culkin had won hearts with his portrayal of Kevin McCallister an eight-year-old who is left to look out for himself when his family goes on vacation leaving him accidentally behind.
Culkin, 39, took to social media and posted a tongue-in-cheek response on Twitter when it was revealed that ‘Home Alone’ is being rebooted.

The star posted a picture of him lazily lounging on the sofa with a laptop and plates of food, stating that this “what an updated Home Alone would actually look like”.
The new Home Alone will be directed by Dan Mazer, whose previous credits include ‘Dirty Grandpa’. The film will premiere on Disney’s streaming platform. But the release date has not yet been set.
