Confirmed: Disha Vakani Won’t Play Dayaben In Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

There were reports doing the rounds on social media claiming that Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actress Disha Vakani will be returning to the show. If the report in TellyChakkar is to be believed, Disha Vakani who plays Dayaben in Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmash would no longer be seen in the show.

It looks like the deal between the makers at Neela Telefilms and Dayaben could not come to an agreement. According to reports, the production house has not accepted the demands made by the Dayaben. So, the makers of the show might be scouting for the new actress, who will play Dayaben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

Notably, Disha Vakani went on maternity leave in the year 2017 but since then she has not made her appearance in the show. There were reports claiming that Disha’s husband wants to take care of her children instead of going back on the sets of Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. There were some reports also stating that she wants a hike and put some conditions before the makers.

Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of India’s longest running TV show. Produced by Neela Tele Films Private Limited, the first show was premiered on 28 July 2008. It airs from Monday to Friday on SAB TV. Reruns of the show started on Sony Pal from 2 November 2015.

The show is based on the column Duniya Ne Undha Chashma written by columnist and journalist/playwright Taarak Mehta for the Gujarati weekly magazine Chitralekha.
