Filmmaker Babu Sivan, who directed Thalapathy Vijay’s Vettaikaaran passes away at 54 in Chennai
Filmmaker B Babu Sivan, best known as the director of Thalapathy Vijay‘s Vettaikaaran left for his heavenly abode on September 16, 2020. The director has also worked in Vijay’s Kuruvi as a writer and he was a part of Vijay’s Bairavaa’s crew. Babu Sivan was just 54.

As per TOI report, On Sunday, his two daughters wrote the NEET exam and they were accompanied by their mother. When they reached home, they found Babu Sivan unconscious. His family members rushed him to a hospital in Tambaram, Chennai. But since they could not afford the hospital bills, he was shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital. The doctors revealed that Babu had a problem with his lungs, liver, and kidney. T
The hospital conducted dialysis to help his kidney function. But it did not help and the director breathed his last in the hospital in an unconscious state.
Since Babu Sivan has been out of work for the past couple of years. The family was undergoing financial troubles. Contrary to many reports, Babu Sivan had tested negative for the novel coronavirus.
Sivan is survived by his wife and two daughters. His mortal remains will be kept at his house in Madambakkam, Chennai for homage.
