In an unfortunate turn of events, on Wednesday, the entire Indian film fraternity was left shocked after the legendary actor Dilip Kumar, who was popularly known as the tragedy king of Bollywood, passed away at the age of 98. The actor passed away at Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital.
Dilip Kumar’s friend Faisal Farooqui shared the news on the actor’s official Twitter account and wrote: “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him we return. – Faisal Farooqui”

The legendary actor’s last rites will be done in Mumbai at 5 pm. The late actor’s family shared an update on his official Twitter handle and tweeted as: “Burial today at 5:00 PM. Juhu Qabrastan at Santacruz Mumbai.”

The late actor had been admitted to the hospital after experiencing breathlessness on June 30. On June 6, Dilip Kumar was hospitalized after a similar complaint.
Dilip Kumar- born Yusuf Khan- debuted as an actor in the film Jwar Bhata (1944). In a career spanning over five decades, Kumar worked in over 65 films. Kumar was known for roles in films such as the romantic Andaz (1949), Aan (1952), Daag (1952), Devdas (1955), Azaad (1955), Mughal-e-Azam (1960), Gunga Jamuna (1961), and Ram Aur Shyam (1967).
