On Sunday, veteran actor Dilip Kumar was taken to Mumbai’s Hinduja hospital after he complained of breathing issues. He has been admitted to non-COVID PD and is under the care of a team of senior doctors, Cardiologist Dr. Nitin Gokhale and Pulmonologist Dr. Jalil Parkar.
Now, the latest development on Kumar’s health is that he has been put on oxygen support. Dr. Parkar spoke to The Times Of India and shared an update on his health: “Mr. Dilip Kumar has been put on oxygen support. He has been diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion along with a drop in oxygen saturation”.
Further, he said that the actor is stable and not in the ICU. “If all goes well, he may be discharged in 2-3 days,” said the doctor. Dr. Parkar and Dr. Gokhale are currently monitoring the thespian closely.
The news was confirmed on the 98-year-old actor’s official Twitter handle. “Dilip Sahab has been admitted to non-Covid PD Hinduja Hospital Khar for routine tests and investigations. He’s had episodes of breathlessness. A team of healthcare workers led by Dr. Nitin Gokhale is attending to him. Please keep Sahab in your prayers and please stay safe,” read the tweet.
Earlier, National Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar, paid a visit to the veteran actor in the hospital.
