Dhule: Doctor found dead in his car, Police suspect suicide

A 29-year-old doctor found dead in his car in his hometown Dhule on Thursday. Local Police suspect it to be a case of suicide using the self-administered drug, as they found syringes in the car, Mumbai Mirror reported.

The deceased has been identified as Dr Parag Khairnar, who used to work at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa till August. He had returned to his native village, Sakri to run his own clinic along with his father, Dr DD Khairnar, a renowned local doctor.  

Police said Parag had opened his own clinic on September 2. Sakri police was called by locals who noticed “a person lying unconscious in a car” on a highway near the village.

“The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared as brought dead. He had a fresh mark on his left arm caused by a recently administered injection. We also found used syringes in his car. We have sent them for chemical analysis to understand what drug was used,” Ashok Badgujar, the Sakri police officer investigating the case told Mumbai Mirror.

While the Khairnar family’s statement is yet to record, they have informed Sakri police that Parag had left behind his wallet and mobile phone before he went untraceable on Wednesday.
