Akshay Kumar and Suneil Shetty’s 2000 film Dhadkan was one of the highest-grossing movies of that time. In a recent interview, Suneil Shetty has said that he wants his son Ahan Shetty and Akshay Kumar’s son Aarav Kumar to appear in Dhadkan’s sequel.
Besides Akshay and Suneil, Dhadkan starred Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Mahima Chaudhary as the female leads.
In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Suniel Shetty was quoted as saying, “I and Akshay have grown old now and no one will be interested to see oldies like us romance on the screen. But it would be great if the sequel is made with our kids. But Shilpa’s daughter is very cute and too small to be a part of the film.”
According to the report, Suneil Shetty has already spoken to Dhadkan producer Ratan Jain and he had reacted positively to this idea. “We also shared this thought of casting our sons with producer Ratan Jain and he liked it too.”
However, Dhadkan 2’s plan has been put on hold due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic. “We were working on the casting. But since the outbreak of coronavirus and the lockdown, no screen tests or look tests have been done. If all goes as per our plans then we may begin shooting in 2021,” Ratan said.
Meanwhile, the third part of Akshay Kumar and Suneil Shetty starrer Heri Pheri is also being discussed. Speaking about Heri Pheri 3 to Zoom earlier this year, Suneil Shetty had said, “I don’t think it’s not happening. It’s still there, very much alive and it will happen with the three of us because we are very very keen. Things have to be sorted out and they are. So we’re definitely doing it.”
