The Delhi-Lucknow Shatabdi train had to be halted for hours at the Ghaziabad station after a massive fire broke out from one of the bogie. Passengers stuck inside were safe, however it created quite a panic as both the doors of the bogie could not be opened. The incident took place at around 6:45 am.
Addressing the fire incident, the Delhi railway department issued a statement and officially confirmed that indeed the broke out from the New Delhi-Lucknow Shatabdi Express at 6:45 am. “The affected coach was detached. All passengers are safe. Train departed at 8:20 am,” stated the statement. The railway department apparently took no time in sending the rescue team after they learned about the massive fire in train. The Fire tenders arrived at the station to control the flame coming out of the train. The team also detached the coach that could have affected the other ones.

For the unversed this is the second a fire broke in a Delhi train, the last fire incident apparently took place around a week ago. On March 13, a coach of the New Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Express had caught up the fire.
