Recently, there has been news that Deepika Padukone has Danish citizenship and she can’t vote in India. Unlike other Bollywood celebs, she doesn’t have the right to vote in India. Now the Paadmavat star has clarified on the rumours that said that she has a Danish passport.
As per a report in Times of India, Deepika said that she has an Indian passport and is a proud Indian citizen and will be casting her vote this election. She said this at one of the press conferences when she was asked about her citizenship. The actress said that there a lot of complications but now she is proud to be called a citizen of India. Well, now as the rumours are cleared, we hope to see Deepika at the polling booth.
Meanwhile, many Bollywood celebs have cast their valuable votes today in Mumbai. Celebs like Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Shilpa Shetty, Dia Mirza, Madhuri Dixit, Kareena Kapoor, and others turned up to cast their votes.
Deepika is currently busy with her upcoming movie Chhapaak. The Delhi schedule has been wrapped up. Many leaked pictures and videos from the sets of the movie have surfaced on the internet. The movie has created a lot of buzz much before its release. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the movie is based on the life of acid-attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Deepika will be playing Malti and the movie is slated to hit the screens on January 10, 2020.
