Deepika Padukone lashes out at reporter for asking if Ranveer Singh invested in ‘Chhapaak’

Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone is currently gearing up for her upcoming film Chhapaak which is directed by Meghna Gulzar. The movie is based on the life of an acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The Piku actress is playing the role of an acid attack survivor named Malti.

At the title song launch event in Mumbai, Deepika was seen lashing out at a reporter who questioned if her husband and Bollywood star Ranveer Singh too, has invested in the production of Chhapaak. To this, she snapped immediately and said, “Excuse me, who told you this? This is my money. This is my hard work.”

Listening to her answer and how she dealt with the situation, the cast and crew of the film present at the event burst out laughing and applauded the actress.
Talking about the movie, Chhapaak is all about the trauma and the triumph of Laxmi Agarwal portrayed by Deepika Padukone on the big screen. It focuses on the on-ground consequences of surviving an acid attack and all that transpires with the victim post the horrific attack. Meghna and Deepika have sensitively handled the subject and tried to bring to fore the trauma a victim undergoes post the attack and how we can extend our support towards the victims.
The film also stars Vikrant Massey and is produced by Fox Star Studios, Deepika Padukone’s KA Production, Meghna Gulzar & Govind Singh Sandhu’s Mriga Films.‘Chhapaak’ is slated to release on January 10, 2020, and will be clashing with Ajay Devgn’s ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.’
Apart from Chhapaak, Deepika Padukone will also be seen sharing screen space with her husband Ranveer Singh in Kabir Khan’s 83.
