Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer won the hearts of every Friends fan as the on-off couple Ross and Rachel. Ross was often heard pulling out an excuse: ‘We were on a break!’ on the show. It all started when on Season 3 Ross sleeps with another woman (played by Angela Featherstone), after an argument with Rachel’. When caught he responds, “We were on a break.” The show ended in 2010 with Ross and Rachel getting back together.
Recently, on the virtual appearance on The Tonight Show hosted by Jimmy Fallon, David finally settled the question of whether Ross and Rachel were on a break or not. Fallon asked David on his take about ‘we were on a break’ and on his thoughts about it. To which, Schwimmer quipped, “It’s not even a question. They were on a break.”
David also spoke about the Friends reunion and said, “It’s unscripted. It’s basically a really fun interview and then some other surprise bits.”
The highly anticipated Friends reunion on HBO Max has been pushed to Thanksgiving due to the coronavirus pandemic. The special was set to film on Stage 24, the original Friends soundstage on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank.
Speaking to Fallon, Schwimmer said the current hope is that the reunion will tape in mid-August. He added that, “We’re going to wait and see if it’s really safe to do. If not, we’ll wait until it’s safe.”
