After a period of more than two years, Darren Bravo has been recalled to the West Indies squad for the three-match series against Bangladesh.
The left-handed batsman last played an ODI for the West Indies in the year 2016 and has now made a comeback after the Windies’ tour of India.
T20I captain Carlos Brathwaite and Roston Chase also made it to the ODI squad. The series gets underway in Dhaka on Friday.
The ones who retained their place were Fabian Allen, Oshane Thomas and Chandrapaul Hemraj.
Rovman Powell was named the interim captain of the side with the injury of Jason Holder.
“With two more ODI Series before the 2019 World Cup, the Bangladesh series allows us to narrow our search for our final 15-member World Cup squad,” Courtney Browne, the chairman of selectors, said.
“Darren’s experience will add value to the batting, which in turn will place selection pressure for spots in the squad,” he added.
