Darbar: First Look of Rajinikanth with AR Murugadoss unveiled
Here is the first look poster of Rajinikanth's next film titled 'Darbar'
The first look of Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest film has been revealed. The movie that was earlier dubbed as ‘Thalaivar 167’ is now titled as ‘Darbar’ and is being helmed by AR Murugadoss, who is known for his hit flicks such as ‘Thuppakki’, ‘Ghajini’ and ‘Sarkar’. This is the first collaboration between Murugadoss’ and the Megastar. The first look poster was unveiled by Lyca Productions, the production house behind Rajinikanth-starrer magnum opus ‘2.0’ from last year.

The first look poster showcases Rajinikanth at the center, sporting his signature grin and round-rimmed shades. It seems the megastar is depicting the role of a cop in the movie, but the tag line(“You decide whether you want me to be good, bad or worse), along with his trademark mischievous grin, hint that he does not follow the book.
We think that the first look of ‘Darbar’ does justice to the larger-than-life persona of Rajinikanth.
South beauty Nayanthara has been cast as the female lead by the makers of ‘Darbar’. This is Nayanthara and Rajinikanth’s fourth collaboration after ‘Chandramukhi’, ‘Kuselan’ and ‘Sivaji’. Rajinikanth was last seen in Karthik Subbaraj’s ‘Petta’, which released at the beginning of 2019. Nayanthara had recently starred in the horror movie, ‘Airaa’, in which she played a double role.
Rumours, stating that SJ Suryah (who appeared in Murugadoss’ Spyder back in 2017) had joined the film’s cast. But Rajinikanth’s publicist Riaz K Ahmed put them to rest by tweeting that only Nayanthara has been finalized as yet.
The shoot of the film is likely to start from April 10 in Mumbai and the cop drama will release around Pongal 2020.
