India vs Afghanistan Day 1 summary
Former Indian captain, Sourav Ganguly aka Dada showed his support to the enthusiastic new born Afghanistan team. He feels they will get better and better with more matches. It is obviously a tedious task to encounter team India in their own backyard. Many world class teams have failed to do so. India showed sheer dominance and at the same time greeted Afghanistan with warmth. The only positive for the visitors was experience that they gained from this memorable encounter.
Sourav ganguly also perceives that Afghanistan lacked application and only color of their clothes had changed. They were still in limited overs mode. They lacked footwork in initial stages when fast bowlers were in full throttle. Batsman seemed to play full deliveries with body weight majorly on back foot which is highly inappropriate while playing Test cricket.
Teams like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe had similar issues when they stepped on International Test circuit. There is no reason for the talented Afghan team to get disheartened.
