Maharashtra braces up for the Cyclone Tauktae. According to the reports, the state has shifted around 580 to 600 COVID-19 patients from the field hospitals on Saturday i.e May 15. MAHA CM, Uddhav Thackeray holding a meeting with Union Home Minister, Amit Shah to discuss the plannings and preparations. The safeguarding activities are being carried out after the IMBD’s prediction of expected high tide across the Mumbai, Konkan division.
“Tidal wave of about 2-3 metres above astronomical tide is likely to inundate coastal areas of Morbi, Kutch, Devbhoomi Dwarka and Jamnagar district, and 1-2 metres along Porbandar, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, and 0.5-1 metre over the remaining coastal districts of Gujarat,” an advisory reportedly said. Thus the BMC has stepped in to take preventive actions ahead of the expected high tide.
The Cyclone Tauktae is very likely to intensify further during the next 12 hours, according to the Indian Meteorological Department. It said that the cyclone might cross the Gujarat coasts between Porbandar and Mahuva in Bhavnagar district on Tuesday morning.
